From August 11, 2023, MIAT operates Boeing 787‑9 aircraft on long‑haul routes. The first aircraft, registered EI‑MGL (Khubilai Khaan), joined the fleet via a lease from AerCap and entered service on August 12 with weekly routes to Seoul (ICN), Istanbul (IST), and Frankfurt (FRA). A second 787‑9, registered EI‑UBN (Munkh Khaan), was added in late April 2024. Each aircraft is configured in a three‑class layout: 30 Business, 36 Premium Economy, and 226 Economy seats, totaling 292 passengers.
