About the record
Released in 1963, The Shadows’ Greatest Hits brings together some of the best-known recordings from one of Britain’s most important instrumental groups.
Led by Hank Marvin’s instantly recognisable guitar sound, the album includes classics such as Apache, F.B.I., Wonderful Land, Kon-Tiki and Guitar Tango. The clean electric guitar, echo-heavy production and melodic arrangements became hugely influential on British rock and instrumental music.
It is a brilliant snapshot of The Shadows at their early-1960s peak and an excellent record for collectors of vintage instrumental rock, rock & roll and classic British guitar music.
