The American Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-82 with registration N236AA features a distinctive black nosecone, setting it apart visually from standard liveries. This particular MD-82 model was released by NG Models in June 2025 as a high-quality 1:400 scale diecast collectible, highly regarded for its detailed accuracy including precise decals, antennas, engines, and landing gear.
The black nosecone variant references a lesser-seen paint scheme that some American Airlines MD-82s sported late in their operational service. The aircraft N236AA itself is an iconic MD-82, part of American Airlines' fleet history when the MD-80 series was a mainstay for domestic and short international routes, known for its reliable performance.
This collectible model by NG Models is popular among aircraft collectors due to its sharp contrast nosecone design and faithful build quality representing American Airlines' MD-82 heritage.
