A beautiful piece of vintage Indian music and a particularly interesting record for anyone who enjoys ghazals. This LP brings together music from the classic 1954 film Mirza Ghalib, with Ghulam Mohammed's compositions built around the poetry of Mirza Ghalib.

The record features some of the most memorable voices associated with the film, including Talat Mahmood and Suraiya. The music has that wonderful old Hindi film sound, with the poetry kept firmly at the centre rather than buried under heavy orchestration.

This particular 1969 edition was released in connection with the centenary commemorations marking 100 years since Ghalib's death, making it a lovely historical record as well as a great listen. A special LP for collectors of vintage Bollywood, Urdu poetry and classic Indian recordings.

The record is in excellent condition. Not mint, but very well kept and ready to play.
