Released in 1963, The Second Barbra Streisand Album is a beautiful early example of what made Barbra so distinctive. It is full of classic songs from Broadway and the American songbook, but the arrangements give them a very personal feel. Her voice is already incredibly expressive here, moving easily from the quieter, more intimate songs to the bigger theatrical numbers.

There are some really lovely tracks on this one, especially Any Place I Hang My Hat Is Home, My Coloring Book, I Stayed Too Long at the Fair and Like a Straw in the Wind. It has that unmistakable early 60s Columbia sound, with lush orchestration but plenty of room for Barbra's voice to take centre stage.

A great record for anyone collecting classic vocal albums or early Barbra Streisand. This is her second studio album, released only a few months after her debut, and it really shows how quickly she was establishing her own sound.

The record is in excellent condition. Not mint, but very well kept and ready to play.
